With the 2018-19 season underway, Da Camera explores the multiple ways in which the present and future are informed by the past. In both chamber music and jazz, there is an ongoing dialogue with the great composers and performers who came before us and serve as inspiration.
The internationally acclaimed Elias String Quartet is returning to Houston with two distinct programs. On March 19th, the performance will include the U.S. premiere of String Quartet No. 4 “Nine Fragments,” a newly commissioned work by esteemed contemporary British composer Sally Beamish, along with a selection of Scottish folk songs and String Quartet No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 41 No. 1 by Robert Schumann.
